Rage!

Another specialised Stormer drug which taps into the regenerative reservoir, Rage! utilises the biogenetic energy fuelling the Stormer’s regeneration to increase aggression and general physiological combat readiness in unimpaired individuals. As tissue damage is incurred activity is rerouted to its original purpose of repairing injuries, but the combat stimulant effects return as pain and injury signals cease.

A dose of Rage! costs 10c.

Game Use:

Game Effects: (Stormer) +2 on to hit rolls if unwounded and at full Hits for 1 hour. This effect is increased or decreased by any factor influencing the Stormer’s regeneration at the same rate as the regeneration (i.e. modifier increases to +4 if the regeneration is doubled by an effect).

This – and not only this – has a double meaning with Lore’s perceptual poison, which has finally hit the market after long being nothing more than – you guessed it – a fancy dream of its creators in one of Karma’s offshoots.

What perceptual poison does is make fancy dreams come true. It is the ultimate psycho-somatic compound, putting the mind in firm and total control of the body. At least in the limited field of injuries: Let the subject think she has been stabbed, shot, or strangled, and that is what will as far as her body is concerned will have happened. Perceptual poison lets people be stabbed to death by foam-padded toy swords, grievously wounded with empty guns, or strangled by putting a hand on their throat.

UV Cascade

A further refinement of the basic UV formula, the Cascade strain of SLA Industries’ most potent combat drug is administered in the form of an inactive prodrug. The active compound is liberated from this stable form by interaction with itself, meaning the user’s system is flooded with UV in a sustained chain-reaction until the complete supply of pre-injected inactive UV Cascade has been burnt off. In this way the duration of UV exposure can be calculated very precisely. As the Cascade has to be triggered by injecting active substance, it is also possible to pre-load on large doses of UV to profit from its effects later on for long durations without having to carry large supplies of the drug.

UV Cascade is available in various pre-calculated duration doses. Every 24 hours or part thereof cost 25c.

Dog Sweat is a dangerous new soft drug which has recently hit the streets of the World of Progress, courtesy of DarkNight.

Cooked up by the twisted minds of the Telluric Aeon think tank and manufactured at so called pet shop plants, Dog Sweat does cause the user to experience an intense high, but at the same time quickly and permanently destroys the body’s ability to produce a range of vital enzymes. Dog Sweat compensates for this by mimicking the function of the enzymes, so there are no adverse effects as long as a steady supply of the drug is given. Withdrawal, though, is quickly fatal as body functions break down.

Hits of Dog Sweat usually sell for 20u.

M’zm’r

Sometimes translated as ‘cavesight’ M’zm’r is a traditional Shaktar drug a formulation of which has now been made available on the mass market. This new incarnation is manufactured to highest industrial standards under controlled conditions to guarantee the drug is free from impurities and correctly dosable.

M’zm’r has mildly hallucinogenic properties. Shaktar folklore attributes these to the user of M’zm’r being touched by the gods and contacted by the spirits of his ancestors, while more scientific theories speculate about the activation of genetically coded racial memories or simply recollection of events and impressions from early childhood.

The actual reported effects include changes in visual perception, such as darkening, flickering, and muted colours or movement in the peripheral vision, as well as low key auditory phenomena, with echoes being most common, assorted noises a close second, while actual semi-intelligible speech (always attributed a whispering quality) is only seldomly reported. Haptic impressions can play a role in some users, most often described as the feeling of granular substances or liquids touching or covering the user’s skin.

M’zm’r is sold for 7c a dose by its manufacturer, Red Pharmaceuticals.
